Welcome to Reading Works

“When I began to read, I began to exist.”  – Walter Dean Myers

Reading Works is dedicated to raising the level of literacy for adults across the metropolitan Detroit region.  This mission is based on the knowledge that reading at a minimum proficiency is necessary for achieving the sustainable work and life skills that will transform the future of individuals, their families and our region.

Please join co-hosts Carmen Harlan and Rochelle Riley and a bevy of Literacy Leaders, Community Crusaders and Media Celebrities for the Every   December Fundraiser for Literacy at 12:00 p.m.,   Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Motor City Casino Hotel Main Ballroom.

For 13 years, Rochelle has worked to improve adult reading across Southeast Michigan.  That effort continues with this luncheon and midday party.

Proceeds to benefit Reading Works and Reading Works Impact Partner Dominican Literacy Center.
