Welcome to Reading Works

“When I began to read, I began to exist.”  – Walter Dean Myers

Reading Works is dedicated to raising the level of literacy for adults across the metropolitan Detroit region.  This mission is based on the knowledge that reading at a minimum proficiency is necessary for achieving the sustainable work and life skills that will transform the future of individuals, their families and our region.
